2BRUCE STUDIO OPENS IN ASHEVILLE, NC
Audio post-production house brings New York expertise to North Carolina city’s growing film and television scene.
ASHEVILLE, NC‚ After nearly two decades in the media and entertainment industries, Bruce Sales has brought his business, 2BruceStudio, to the Asheville, North Carolina, area. 2BruceStudio specializes in audio post-production, sound design and original music composition for film, television and all media.
“Everyone loves working at our studio in Asheville,” says Sales, “We have the right tools and experience, and we offer audio post-production and creative services that bring any filmmaker’s vision to life.”
An accomplished pianist and composer, Sales graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He then moved to New York City, where he worked for 17 years at top audio post-production houses such as HEA Productions and David Horowitz Music Associates (DHMA). But he was lured back to Asheville, his hometown, which is enjoying incredible growth that is reflected in the burgeoning production scene.
“Asheville had grown so much,” Sales recalls. “The possibility of doing what I loved in the town that means so much to me was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
Now running his own post-production studio, 2BruceStudio, Sales has contributed his talents to significant local film productions that are putting Asheville on the map. His recent credits include: Anywhere USA directed by Chusy Haney-Jardine of Plan A Films (an official selection at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival); Climate Alive! directed by Kurt Mann of American Green with the Media Arts Project and the Asheville HUB; numerous award-winning TV commercials for The Grove Park Inn, the world-class spa and hotel; Fully Awake: Black Mountain College, a documentary about the experimental arts college that fostered such luminaries as Buckminster Fuller, Robert Rauschenberg, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline and others; and a TV commercial for the Biltmore Estate, America’s largest home and its most-visited winery.
“Many film viewers have no idea how much work goes into creating and polishing the sound they hear in a film production,” says Sales. “Most of what you hear in a commercial or film, for example, would sound very mediocre if it were not for the talents of an experienced sound engineer.”
Believing strongly in giving back to the community, Sales served as the technical sponsor for Asheville’s 2007 installment of The 48 Hour Film Project.
